She fixed her gaze on the plastic bag as it floated into the sky. Her surroundings grew dim as ther attention was now fixed on the plastic bag. Passerbys thought that she was gazing at the old buliding structures nearby. No one could have guessed that she was staring at the plastic bag, or indeed that she was infact standing there for that sole purpose. In this dusty,drab corner of the street, she and the plastic bag became one.


We are all drifters going where the wind takes us
From the moment we open our eyes to the day we shut them
We just go where the tide takes us
Some of us are lucky enough to get washed to clear shores
Other would remain alone, floating into the abyss


In the corner of her eyes, she sees a child. A young drifter, so engrossed in his books. He is but a slave to the educational system. A youth so caught up with the tides of the world. A child who has lost his innocence to the decepts of the world.
